\This position is located onsite, you must reside in the state of WI.\
POSITION SUMMARY The Accounting Specialist serves the Accounting team by
obtaining financial data for use in maintaining & reconciling accounting
records. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES General Responsibilities Verify,
balance, research and prepare journal entries necessary for daily
business transactions. Submit state and federal withholding payments.
Identify and research adjustments, errors, and other discrepancies.
Follow-up on all outstanding items in a timely manner. Perform
statement, check, and receipt research as required. Pull copy requests
for members as needed. Balance ITM, ATM, cash accounts and teller
checks. Assist front line staff with variance discrepancies and
questions. Daily reconciliation of cash and management of cash balances
in various credit union accounts. This also includes proper processing
of stale dated items and outstanding reserve items. Complete daily
reconciliations as required by procedures. Monthly reconciliation of all
balance sheet accounts. Comply with all company policies and procedures,
applicable laws, and regulations. Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and
OFAC regulations as they relate to this position. Maintain a
professional image of the credit union in dealing with members: provide
friendly, helpful assistance, upgrade knowledge of financial products
and protect member confidentiality. Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associate degree in accountingor
related field or equivalent experience. 2 years of experience preferred.
KEY COMPETENCIES Computer skills including, but not limited to,
Microsoft Office, Internet. General typing and 10-key calculator skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively serve
all levels of the organization as well as members of the Credit Union.
Conscientious, attention to detail, performs accurate work with respect
for regulations and standards. Solid math skills: calculate figures and
amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to work at a steady, even pace, and has a high aptitude for work
that is mechanical or technical in nature. Dependable, consistent in
handling structured routines. Working knowledge of accounting and
reconciliation of accounts. Possess a working knowledge of all relevant
