Accounts Receivable Specialist Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team on a contract basis. This role is critical in managing billing operations, customer invoicing, collections, and financial documentation. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP), and a background in manufacturing or progress billing.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and issue invoices for parts, services, and projects.

Maintain and update customer payment tracking spreadsheets.

Process and invoice change orders accurately and promptly.

Respond to customer requests for statements and complete EFT documentation.

Distribute invoices via email and customer portals.

Conduct collection activities and maintain detailed communication records.

Generate weekly reports on outstanding receivables.

Compile and distribute daily order booking reports.

Code and verify freight invoices.

Coordinate with the tax department to ensure proper tax application and certificate management.

Submit monthly data to financial reporting services.

Monitor and track vendor certificates of insurance.

Support additional accounting functions as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Solid understanding of accounting principles, including credits and debits.

Experience with manufacturing billing and progress billing processes.

Ability to manage freight billing through customer portals.

Familiarity with multi-state tax regulations and documentation.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.

Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
