HOW A CYBER SECURITY CHIEF ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Inventory and assess the Certificate Life Cycle Management processes, Standard Operating Procedures, and tools for completeness and compare to industry best practices. Prepare a gap analysis.
Oversee a proof of concept for automation of certificate installation and renewals.
Lead the design and deployment of complex cybersecurity solutions focused on incident response, vulnerability management, threat hunt, and cyber defense; ensuring they align with client needs and industry best practices.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, security requirements, and risk management strategies.
Develop and implement comprehensive security solutions that address current and future threats, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity initiatives, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Design and oversee cybersecurity solutions, ensuring they deliver high value and meet client expectations.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threat landscapes, and incorporate relevant advancements into the solution architecture.
Prepare and present detailed architectural plans, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and clients.
Ensure the continuous improvement of cybersecurity processes, tools, and methodologies.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery of cybersecurity solutions and managed services.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Required Experience:
12+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 7 years in a senior architecture or solution design role for a large program
Technology consultant with expertise specific to Post Quantum Cryptography and capable of evaluating cryptographic technologies.
Knowledge of SOAR capabilities and experience with designing automated processes, enterprise security architecture, and evaluating/developing system integrations.
Expert on integrating modern and legacy tool sets across disparate environments.
Experience with asset management, networking, and cybersecurity.
Successful candidate will demonstrate substantial experience hunting for and mitigating cyber threats across multiple organizations in different industries in public sector environments.
Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex security architectures in diverse environments.
Proficiency in advanced cybersecurity technologies and solutions (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls, cloud security).
Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with clients and senior leadership.
Preferred Experience:
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, TOGAF, or similar are highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
Security Clearance Level:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
