The anticipated salary range for the position is $90,000 to $110,000. The salary will be based on experience.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Warehouse Operations Leader to oversee and drive performance across all aspects of our warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and sterilization. This role is responsible for leading a team of managers and supervisors, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in warehouse management-preferably within the medical device industry-along with proven experience implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), driving process improvements, and leading cross-functional teams. This is a high-impact leadership role that requires a hands-on, data-driven approach to managing people, processes, and performance.
Job Description
Identifies long and short-term goals and objectives for self and subordinate managers and supervisors, anticipating and preparing for the execution of the steps to successfully reach the desired outcome.
Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and supervisors who will plan, coordinate, manage, and control the day to day activities related to the receiving, shipping, pulling, palletizing and sterilization functions of the company.
Cultivates leadership and ensures that managers and supervisors are consistently held accountable for their performance, and the performance of their direct reports.
Proactively monitors and measures warehouse performance for lines per hour, accuracy of picks, cube utilization, and other appropriate metrics, and devises and initiates appropriate action to ensure that business and department objectives are met.
Ensures operating procedures of all assigned areas comply with ISO standards and with applicable federal, state and local guidelines. Responsible for Sterilization Services of Virginia invoices. Manages policy deployment in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
Directs warehouse personnel in ongoing operations and activities towards the accomplishment of organization objectives. Supports the Company Quality Policy, Mission Statement and ISO Quality System. Prepares reports based on collection and analyzing data as required by immediate supervisor and the management team.
Continuously strategizes and looks for improvements in warehouse operations and procedures to meet the future business needs (ERP, WMS, FIFO management, Physical Inventory, etc.). Assures and monitors compliance with a safe working environment. Plans and communicates daily objectives for the warehouse team.
Responsible for developing and monitoring sound business processes and internal controls that enable the achievement of corporate objectives, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Plans and implements budgets for department operating expenditures to include contracted services, manpower, and salaries. Minimizes overtime. Assumes other duties/responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor, other management personnel or as business need dictates.
Responsible for supervision of supervisors and managers and development of exempt and non-exempt staff across all shifts, providing leadership for employee relations through timely and effective communications, coaching, training, employee development, and corrective actions if appropriate. Inspires and motivates the warehouse team to perform well and be accountable for behaviors and their impacts on other teammates and customers
Qualifying Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, related field required or equivalent experience.
Seven or more years of experience working in a warehouse management position, preferably in the medical device industry required
Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
Requires complete knowledge of warehouse techniques and processes and a background involving experience with manufacturing methods and process improvement processes.
Requires experience in effectively implementing a Warehouse Management System.
Project management experience related to implementation of a Warehouse Management System is strongly preferred.
