Summary:The Commercial Portfolio Manager III - Inventory Finance is the most advanced of the portfolio manager roles in inventory finance, the Large Ticket Portfolio Manager, (LTPM) will be a highly motivated team player, with demonstrated management and leadership experience with strategic relationships across large ticket industries. This position builds strong teams that focus on excellent customer service balanced with strong risk mitigation and a culture of compliance that are critical to the success of our customers and stakeholders and work with a team of account managers and executives to continuously enhance dealer, distributor, and manufacturer customer satisfaction. This position involves will be the lead in recommending process improvement initiatives, reviewing portfolio performance, identifying, and mitigating risks, and resolving day-to-day issues serve as a coach and mentor to the account management team, covering all aspects of portfolio operations including problem account management, and identifying strategic dealer and program growth opportunities. The role serves as an excellent opportunity to build a management career in either Sr. Portfolio Management, Credit, or Sales functions within the dynamic inventory finance industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the account managers (AM) account executives (AE) to ensure that the needs of the dealers, distributors, and manufacturers are met and that growth opportunities and program changes are identified.
Ensure that the AMs/AEs serve as the primary point of contact for the dealers or distributors to resolve billing and other inquiries, dealer reviews for exceptions, structural changes, credit enhancements and location changes.
Lead process enhancement initiatives with the Credit and Sales teams to optimize the customer experience.
Support the Managing Director to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure retention through regular communications and interactions.
Enhance customer service levels through continual evaluation and enhancements.
Oversee the AM/AEs to ensure that funds held in suspense, early pay discounts, and plan changes, dealer, distributor and manufacturer pricing modifications and corrections are completed in accordance with HDF policies and procedures. Additional review may include dealer trade in requests and refinances, and third party payoffs.
The LTPM will work with the processing team in Finance to coordinate processes, highlight recommend changes, and improvements as needed to optimize the customer experience.
Work closely with the AM/AEs to ensure program compliance, including follow up of file conditions including financial statements, covenant compliance, subordination and inter-creditor agreements, float tests and cash audits.
Monitor daily tasks and cases to be sure that the team is paying attention to detail and managing activities proactively using the tools and technology available.
Manage all aspects of policies and procedures and ensure controls are implemented to mitigate risk.
Establish mechanisms to review and communicate (and escalate as appropriate) industry and dealer trends to appropriate stakeholders (HDF senior leadership, sales, and suppliers); monitoring includes but is not limited to potential non-accruals, high risk accounts, account specific interest waivers, charge-offs, defaults, accelerations, and terminations; prepare recommendations, action plans, and potential outcomes to HDF management and/or suppliers as appropriate.
Ensure timely communication of the dealer's needs, issues, and concerns to the appropriate manufacturer contacts, HDF Sales, Finance, Credit, and Compliance teams as appropriate.
Establish a regular rhythm of communication with the proper contacts as deemed appropriate. The communication may include weekly and monthly conference calls or meetings, and reporting, in addition to specific communication on an on-going basis.
Support dealer on-boarding processes which may include increase in credit line, product line additions, carve outs, etc.
Work with Compliance, Credit, Sales, and Loan documentation to ensure expedited on-boarding.
Monitor and review on-boarding processes and identify recommended changes needed to expedite the activation of accounts and minimize customer impact.
Act as a facilitator with documentation Center of Excellence, Compliance and Legal on complex transactions, coach AM/AEs so they have a thorough understanding of requirements to ensure a smooth customer experience for dealers, distributors, and manufacturers.
Communicate and monitor team compliance with established processes and procedures.
Remedy exceptions identified through internal audits.
Participate with corporate operations and other portfolio leadership to recommend systems and process improvements.
Initiate and lead project(s) with AM/AEs to drive process improvements and/or portfolio monitoring tool and reporting to identify opportunities, concerns, and trends.
Work closely with HDF's legal, compliance, and corporate risks team to ensure that established policies and procedures are being followed.
Attend dealer meetings and visits, manufacturer, and industry trade shows; participate in internal portfolio review meetings and or work on special projects as assigned by the Managing Director.
Work across the organization on cross credit exposures and opportunities to optimize customer engagement.
Develop relationships with colleagues in other parts of the commercial organization such as Vendor Finance, Institutional Banking, Middle Markets.
Manage staff in terms of selection, performance management, coaching, providing feedback, training, and developmental planning.
Develop and utilize effective mechanisms for monitoring team performance and reporting results.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
15+ years of inventory finance/commercial lending experience
5+ years supervisory experience concentrated on coaching and performance management.
2+ years in commercial underwriting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics
MBA or Master's degree
10 years' experience in commercial portfolio management or credit
5+ years' experience in finance, portfolio management, or credit roles within inventory finance.
Experience in Banking, Equipment / Specialty Finance, or Captive Finance.
Excellent analytical ability
10 years' experience in commercial portfolio management or credit
Experience in Banking, Equipment / Specialty Finance, or Captive Finance.
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitate data and draw conclusions.
Strong entrepreneurial attitude with a desire for self-development.

Compensation Range:
$102,000.00 - $208,000.00 Annual Salary
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
