JOB DESCRIPTION:

We're an independent insurance agency offering Life, Health, Medicare, and Annuity products. Our mission is to provide personalized, ethical, and data-informed service to individuals and families. Our focus is on building smart, sustainable growth and we're looking for someone who can help us make data-driven decisions from the very beginning.

ROLE:

As aBusiness Analyst, you'll work directly with the founder to set up foundational tools, processes, and insights that will shape the direction of the company. You'll build reporting systems, track growth, analyze customer behavior, and optimize operations. This is a builder role; ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to grow alongside a business from the ground up.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set up basic financial tracking tools (e.g., commissions, expenses, revenue by product)

Organize reporting systems using Excel, Google Sheets, or simple BI tools

Help define KPIs

FINANCIAL INSIGHTS:

Track and analyze revenue, commissions, and customer acquisition costs

Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and breakeven analysis

Identify highest margin products and client @types

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE:

Create simple reports to measure marketing and sales performance

Segment clients (by age, product, income) to find upsell or retention opportunities

Analyze initial policy lapse trends, conversion rates, and lead sources

PROCESS and TOOL DEVELOPMENT:

Recommend cost-effective CRM or analytics tools suitable for a small team

Develop easy-to-use templates for financial and performance tracking

Work with leadership to create a lean, insight-driven business rhythm

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field

1-3 years of experience in finance, analytics or insurance

Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with CRMs or BI tools is a plus

Comfort working in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment

Self-starter who can figure things out with minimal structure

Bonus: interest in (or experience with) the insurance or financial services industry
