As a Senior Business Operations Director, you have the overall responsibility for managing a portfolio of Department of Defense programs. You will be responsible for successful oversight and execution of the business, including technical and financial performance as well as customer satisfaction activities. The Program Senior Director will be trusted to manage a portfolio of programs and teams - the success will be measured through the quality of program performance, staff performance, customer satisfaction, and growth.
The Senior Business Operations Director role is located in Falls Church, Virginia, office. To be considered, candidates will follow a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence at least three (3) or more days per week **.
HOW A SENIOR BUSINESS OPERATIONS DIRECTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Build and enhance technical competency areas focused on driving innovation, emerging technology, and differentiated business models into existing and prospective programs - establishing mature technical capability teams that can deliver advanced technologies to client missions.**
Identify, mentor, and grow existing technology talent within the business to establish a continuous pipeline of experts capable of delivering on contracts and supporting growth targets.
Recruit and retain new experts to enhance existing on-contract technology deployment and operationalize a Centers of Excellence model.
Continuously review existing programs, in collaboration with program delivery staff, to identify new technology insertion opportunities and enhancements to existing tools, techniques, and processes.
Engage GDIT CTO Digital Accelerator Teams and External Strategic Alliances to identify relevant connection points, translate customer needs/pain points into technology solutions, and establish clear go-to-market strategies for driving new technologies into the business.
Identify opportunities to take capabilities and solutions from specific program areas and more broadly apply them to other Defense Agencies current and prospective programs.
Develop a strong relationship with customers to create clear lines of communication, honest feedback, and trusted partnership; develop and maintain a scheduled contact plan to regularly review performance and adjust to better support our customers.
Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents.
Ensures the timely submission of all contractually required support and deliverable items.
Frequent solicitation of customer feedback on employee performance and quality of deliverable items across all phases of contract performance.
Ensure fiscally responsible performance and improvement of portfolio within the Defense Agencies business plan
Performs program financial management services, including financial analysis, budget and cost quote preparation, cost management, reconciliation, and profit enhancement.
Assess viability of current work and compare fiscal performance with FMR and anticipated annual performance.
Make sound adjustments to increase margin performance while balancing stability and durability of employee workforce.
Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews for senior management as requested.
Responsible for financial performance, including profitability and revenue growth, of assigned program(s).
When revenue or margin impacts are identified, inform financial analysts ASAP and develop contingency plans
Provide input to fiscal year planning, determine annual plan requirements with financial analysts; conduct monthly reviews of fiscal performance; conduct mid-year review of performance and develop recommendations for improvement or plans to sustain.
Build, maintain, and improve GDIT performance teams - foster an environment of learning and support mentors/coaches within programs
Develop and maintain a work environment where all employees' contributions are valued and included as part of the whole solution.
Foster individual and team development; improve as a unit. Work with Program Managers to support continuous efforts to enhance team performance, progress and collective success.
Communicate effectively at the individual and team level; provide effective feedback and concentrate on active listening; seek team member input on solutions. Ensure daily interaction with PMs and in turn with their supervisors to foster effective two-way communications to help identify any issues early and correct as necessary.
Capitalize on the strengths of all individuals and seek opportunities to grow their strengths as part of the whole organization Continuously looking for opportunities for current employees to grow within the program and organization.
Identify training opportunities and encourage employees to seek self-development and advanced education.
Seek new ways of doing business with functional area support: Recruiting, Security, Contracts, Subcontracts and HR.
Continue to meet regularly with recruiting and contract labor staff
Increase communication and streamline our security in processing to ensure candidates are fully qualified in all aspects regarding security
Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
Ensure that Contract Admins are informed of all aspects of contract elements as we execute contract actions and report any discrepancies or conflicts immediately
Ensure that Subcontract Admins are informed of all aspects of subcontract elements as we execute subcontracting actions and report discrepancies or conflicts immediately.
Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor activities and ensures subcontractor deliverables.
Stay engaged with our HRBPs for all employee actions, good and bad, to ensure we are balancing the best interest of both the company and the employee IAW GDIT policy directives.
Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
? Education: Bachelor's degree required in a related discipline such as: Engineering, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Business with a Technical Background.
? Required Experience: 10+ years of experience leading and managing complex information technology initiatives and programs.
? Required Experience: 10+ years of Department of Defense experience.
? Required Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading innovative technology development - capable of decomposing customer problems, identifying technology-based solutions, building proof-of-concept development plan, executing hands-on development, and identifying path to scale.
? Required Experience: Experience managing technical program(s) of $10M+ in revenue per year and supervising/mentoring at least 50 technical FTEs
? Required Experience: Outstanding oral and written communications skills
? Required Experience: Able to leverage relationships such as academic, technology vendors, small business and other relationships to identify and build Enterprise IT / Managed Services solutions and services.
? Required Experience: Demonstrated ability to strategize and co-develop solutions that accelerate DoD customers' attainment of mission objectives.
? Required Technical Skills: Experience developing and integrating emerging commercial technologies to meet Government security requirements (e.g., NIAP, NIST, CSfC).
? Required Technical Skills: Experience in the development, drafting, and writing of technical design and architecture artifacts in @context of the DoD.
? Required Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge and experience in several of the following areas: Cloud Computing, Enterprise IT, Managed Services, Cybersecurity, Software Application Development, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.
? Security Clearance Level: Active Secret clearance required to start
? Required Skills and Abilities: Other specific skills or competencies (communication, problem solving, etc.)
? Preferred Skills: Experience with multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google, Oracle) to include developing hybrid applications, deploying resilient architectures, migrating data, and extending services to the edge.
? Preferred Skills: Experience in full-stack development efforts, to include mobile/desktop applications, secure networking, backend services, and cybersecurity monitoring.
? Preferred Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, unstructured environment.
? Preferred Skills: Deep understanding of DoD technical approaches specifically related to next generation adoption of Cloud, AI, and Cybersecurity emerging technologies.

The likely salary range for this position is $183,498 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
