Description

We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries for both recurring and unique financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain thorough documentation for all journal entries to meet audit standards and policy requirements.

Reconcile general ledger accounts, verifying the accuracy of financial records across various business entities.

Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of all accounting tasks.

Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to manage invoice intake, processing, and payment timelines.

Review and verify general ledger coding for accuracy and adherence to supporting documentation.

Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and precise manner.

Support Accounts Receivable processes, including customer invoicing, receipt applications, and resolving unapplied payments.

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper billing, accruals, and intercompany transaction reconciliations.

Requirements - Strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Experience in month-end close processes and financial reconciliations.

Familiarity with managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Ability to resolve payment and billing discrepancies effectively and efficiently.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate financial schedules and reports.

Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.

Experience supporting external and internal audit processes through documentation and reporting.
