SUMMARY

Provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Director in managing department staff, programs, facilities, and community engagement efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Rec Center Director that are appropriate to this job description.

Assist the Director in daily management of department operations, projects, and staff activities.

Support the preparation and tracking of operating and capital budgets, including vendor coordination and procurement processing.

Coordinate and document Parks and Rec Advisory Board meetings, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up communications.

Maintain records, reports, permits, and compliance documentation for programs and facilities.

Assist in implementation of policies, procedures, and department goals as directed.

Serve as liaison between staff, patrons, and other city departments on routine matters.

Provide support in emergency response coordination when the facility is activated as an emergency shelter.

Monitor deadlines and certification schedules (e.g., CPR, AFO) and ensure timely renewals and training compliance.

Contribute to event planning and community programming logistics.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Preferred Associates Degree in Public Administration, Recreation, Business, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.

One to three years of administrative, clerical, or program support experience, preferably in a government or recreation setting.

Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
