POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director, Employer Engagement & Outreach
serves as the primary contact for BSU for all employer
engagement-related activities to expand partnerships and increase
internships and job opportunities for students and alumni/ae.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Director, Employer
Engagement & Outreach SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Administrative Assistant,
Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, Clerical and Support Staff. TOUR
OF DUTY: This is a 12-month, exempt, APA unit position and is subject to
the terms of that union. Standard Schedule- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Some
evening and weekend hours as well as travel will be required for this
position. This position is eligible for a hybrid/remote work schedule
based on departmental needs and university policies. CORE DUTIES: 1.
Serve as the primary contact for employers interested in recruiting BSU
students and alumni for jobs, internships, and experiential learning
opportunities. 2. Work closely with faculty and deans to identify and
engage potential employers and alumni for outreach efforts. 3.
Coordinate industry panels, career fairs, networking events, employer
information sessions, and other employer engagement activities as
assigned. 4. Conduct ongoing assessment and provide feedback on the
effectiveness of the employer engagement activities. 5. Identify and
cultivate alumni and corporate partners aligned with university academic
programs and student interests. 6. Develop outreach strategies to
attract, establish, and retain recruiting relationships with employer
partners. 7. Manage all employer-related activities in Handshake,
including but not limited to job postings, information sessions, career
fair registrations, employer sponsorships, first destination surveys,
internship data tracking, and employment trends. 8. Facilitate
student-employer connections through site visits and group bus trips. 9.
Attend meetings and events hosted by professional organizations,
including regional chambers and employer resource groups. 10. Develop
regular communication and promotional materials for university
initiatives, programs, and events with alumni and prospective and
current employer partners. 11. Collaborate with Advancement to cultivate
alumni engagement in career development activities such as speaker
series, professional training, mentorship, and leadership development
programs. 12. Identify the latest industry trends and workforce
development related to student and alumni career development. 13. Create
sponsorship opportunities that help employers increase their campus
recruiting brand and generate department resources. 14. Track alumni and
employer engagement activities utilizing Career Forge. Provide reporting
on outreach and engagement activity to department leadership, maintain
data in the system, and train staff on utilization. 15. Collaborate with
department staff as well as the division of Enrollment, Marketing and
Communications to collect alumni and student outcomes and success
stories. 16. Support the first destination data collection information
for the Office annual report. 17. Provide coverage for walk-in
appointments or career advisement sessions for students and alumni when
needed. 18. Conduct career development workshops and connect students
with alumni. 19. Perform other duties assigned by the senior management
team. REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor degree required. 2. Experience using,
maintaining records, and running reports utilizing a Client Relationship
Management (CRM) product 3. Experience planning or co-planning
large-scale events. 4. Experience with and contribute to Diversity,
Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) efforts within the college campus
