We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Pontiac, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation support and a strong understanding of legal procedures. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced legal environment. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and file legal documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements.

Provide litigation support, including drafting correspondence and maintaining case files.

Manage calendars and schedules for attorneys, including court dates, deadlines, and client meetings.

Assist with personal injury cases by organizing case details and communicating with clients.

Coordinate and track court filings, deadlines, and follow-ups to ensure timely submissions.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal documents and case materials.

Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel to facilitate case progress.

Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering calls, and managing correspondence.

Requirements - At least 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.

Proficiency in e-filing and familiarity with court filing procedures.

Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and personal injury law.

Excellent organizational and calendar management skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing legal documents.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency with legal software and tools, as well as standard office applications.
