Accounting Assistant

Onsite in Rapid City, South Dakota

$20.00/HR+ DOE

May have some flexibility with hours 9 - 5:30 w/30 min lunch *

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, and records

Determine the costs and efficiency of company purchasing activities

Review costs for all inventory, labor, and material purchases

Collect and compile purchasing data for analysis

Prepare and complete internal cost audits

Review and document inventory and material purchases

Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

Present cost estimates and budgets for new purchases

Assist in general ledger preparation

Forecasts and plans future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field preferred

2-3 years of previous accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience

Experience with QuickBooks a plus

Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Accurate and precise attention to detail

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
