Job Title: Low Voltage EstimatorJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately pricing and bidding self-performed electrical work, with a focus on low voltage systems, including fire alarm, internet/data cabling, HVAC controls, and technology/internet infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry standards and experience with systems from Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Trane.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for low voltage and technology-related electrical work.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure estimates align with project goals and execution plans.

Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for materials and services.

Develop and maintain a database of unit costs and historical data for future reference.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews.

Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Essential Skills

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in low voltage and technology systems.

Strong knowledge of fire alarm, data/telecom, HVAC controls, and integrated building systems.

Familiarity with Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Trane systems.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

NICET certification or equivalent in fire alarm systems is a plus.

Experience working with design-build and design-assist project delivery methods.

Work Environment

The position is based in a professional office setting with standard business hours. The role may require occasional visits to construction sites for assessments and meetings. Dress code is business casual when in the office and appropriate safety gear when on-site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
