Job Summary

In this role you will supervise the field work normally performed by Company and contract crews in the construction, operation, and maintenance of transmission lines and associated equipment.

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

Ensure that those performing construction and/or maintenance activities adhere to AEP policies, standards, and rules of the company and regulatory agencies.

Develop construction and/or maintenance plans by establishing measurable goals and objectives based upon maintenance requirements.

Provide training, guidance, and performance improvement projects/activities for employees in the organization. Promote professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to standards.

Organize and conduct planning meetings covering scheduling, construction and/or maintenance of equipment with applicable company and contract personnel.

Make effective recommendations for employment, promotion, discipline, and discharge of personnel assigned.

Direct personnel as assigned in the performance of their duties as stated in their job description.

Procure materials, tools and equipment as required. Responsible for the proper and safe use of tools and equipment, the safety, welfare and training of personnel assigned.

Understand and apply the provisions of applicable labor agreements or employee handbook supplements where applicable.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education requirements are listed below:High school education or GED.

Work Experience requirement listed below: Minimum of five years' experience in Transmission operations, construction or maintenance. Possess thorough knowledge of line construction and maintenance activities that are gained through experiences such as Transmission Line Mechanic A, Transmission Construction Representative or Transmission Maintenance Coordinator.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Travel requirements are expected > 50 % of the timeConsiderable travel (over 50%) may be required.

Major enabling competencies: flexibility, communication, creativity, and teamwork.

Compensation Range:

$112,869.00-146,730.50 USD

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
