Position Summary: This position is a technical expert leading position in the design and implementation of complex customized diesel and gas fuel driven power generation solutions utilizing complex control concepts (power system integration, relay, and safety studies as well substation design. The position requires high level of interaction with R&D and engineering in Friedrichshafen and Mankato developing solutions driven by market demand as well as interaction with BU sustainable. Key Accountabilities: Responsible for development of electrical integration schemes for microgrids, transformer stations and bus systems for customer projects. Serve as the technical expert for the specification, design, validation, and maintenance of control systems for power generation solutions supporting R&D, engineering, production service and hyperscale datacenter customers on a global scale Serve as the technical leader within a global electrical system hyperscale data center engineering organization Own and manage the North American knowledge base to support R&D developments and customized deployments for large data center projects, microgrid and BESS solutions Manage the specification of interfaces between MTU hardware (ECU's, control panels, PLC's) and the balance of plant systems such as switchgear and power distribution systems on a global level Provide leadership and guidance to the PSB team within project management to develop special customer applications with MTU controls systems Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices Responsible for following the ERP procedures per the company's quality system Understanding and following applicable HSE procedures and work instructions associated with facility or project mandates Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and 7 years of electrical or electronics engineering experience; or 11 years of electrical or electronics engineering experience Ability and willingness to travel for business trips (20%) Preferred Qualifications: Excellent technical knowledge of control systems for gas and diesel fueled power generation systems for continuous, standby and mission critical applications including subsystems such as switchgear, transformer stations / substations, grid interconnections and controls for island and microgrid solutions Excellent knowledge of power generation and distribution systems Excellent analytical abilities and creative problem-solving skills to quickly gather facts and draw conclusions when situations are extremely complex.
