Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a General Accountant to join the payroll team of a higher education client in Riverside, CA. In this role, you'll work closely with both departmental and central financial teams to handle manual salary cost transfers. You'll be responsible for preparing and processing complex journal corrections, making sure all necessary documentation is included. Your tasks will also involve validating, reconciling, and analyzing payroll data to ensure everything is accurate and compliant. You'll review salary cost transfer submissions through various campus systems to make sure they adhere to established rules and policies. Additionally, you'll conduct detailed financial and payroll analyses to support decision-making, communicate clearly and document each step of the transfer process, and track progress, following up on pending transfers to ensure they are completed on time.

Skills and Requirements

4-7 years of experience in accounting.

General Ledger and Journal Entry experience.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply financial data and business rules.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Familiarity with payroll, accounting, financial systems, and processes.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools. Higher education accounting or payroll experience. null
