JOB DUTIES:
Analyze market trends, develop, and test data models, and publish leading-edge research on data management and data governance and its impact on Artificial Intelligence.
Create an analytical research agenda around data management and data governance - including topics like data quality, data security, metadata management, lineage mapping, data modeling, data catalogs, data observability and data operations - and write primary research in these topic areas for Forrester customers.
As part of the research process, conduct primary quantitative analysis on research data, develop models for requirement gathering as well as interviews with technology and data leaders.
Produce a variety of deliverables, including reports, dashboards, templates, governance best practices, and other tools to help clients with their data governance and data management challenges.
Test programs or software technologies, audit procedures, and define the remediation process.
Understand Forrester's approach to developing published research to ensure written research aligns with the company's go-to market.
Advise, consult, and collaborate with Forrester customers.
Address data governance and data management challenges by applying published research and tools to the specific business and technical needs of Forrester customers.
Identify, evaluate, and provide customers with recommendations around choosing hardware or software technology solutions, creating database development standards, implementing data governance and database management, designing strategies for enterprise databases and data warehouse infrastructure, prioritizing projects, team management, and aligning stakeholders across their organizations around the data management and governance roadmap.
Assist with the configuration of data catalog solutions based on business requirements and specifications, including data assets, domains, communities, and overall operating model.
Collaborate with and advise senior leaders - CDOs, CSOs, CIOs, VPs of Enterprise Architecture, Analytics, Governance, and Customer Insights - in $1B+ global companies.
Work cross-functionally with experts like system architects, data scientists, design analysts, governance managers, and others to understand business or industry requirements.
Publicize research by participating in events; using social media, and other methods to establish a presence in the market and develop visibility for your data governance and data management research and findings.
Plan, write, and conduct webinars for Forrester vendor clients, give speeches and presentations at Forrester and technology conferences, write blogs and participate in podcasts about data governance and data management for education and training.
Attend vendor events and briefings, conduct data analysis and desk research to ensure you are the preeminent expert on data governance and data management.
Discover and understand trends in technology solutions and topics around data governance and database management.
Position requires domestic travel up to 25%. May telecommute up to 100%
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or Computer Science followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an Analyst-related occupation.
Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or Computer Science and three years of experience in the job offered or in an Analyst-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:
Technology development, operations, or strategy.
Working in a corporate IT organization or a technology provider to IT customers.
Data technologies and practices including database management, master data management, data governance, data catalogs, and data quality.
Cloud computing and cloud-based data management and pipeline.
Understanding the application of AI in data platforms, processes, and its impact on organizations.
Emerging and adjacent technologies related to data including knowledge graphs, data creation, data privacy and security, and risk and compliance.
Engaging technically with senior technical architects and data managers and guiding them with actionable insights from research.
Position requires domestic travel up to 25%. May telecommute up to 100%.
