Job Summary
Responsible for developing technical guidance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of Protection and Control (P&C) equipment for all distribution, generation, corporate, and transmission facilities. Responsible for developing capital hardware replacement and firmware upgrade programs that focus on O&M optimization and increased infrastructure reliability. Collaborate with TFS P&C and P&C Engineering to develop failure analysis programs and ultimately develop solutions to mitigate ongoing repetitive failures. Responsible for the field activities to ensure compliance with Federal regulatory and local commission requirements. Also, responsible to assist TFS P&C with efforts during outages to return facilities to service.

What You'll Do:
Improved capital utilization with overall improved reliability of P&C assets:
Deploy and manage global P&C hardware replacement programs
Sponsor failure and capital rehabilitation projects (in collaboration with Transmission Planning)
Sponsor metric and scoring development to help prioritize the replacement of P&C assets and obsolete equipment
Sponsor metric development to help manage malfunctions
Sponsor metric development to help manage failure and rehab projects
Improved infrastructure reliability and adherence of customer interface agreements:
Develop and manage P&C preventive maintenance work plan
Deploy and manage global firmware upgrades to ensure reliability of the P&C infrastructure
Deploy and manage global corrective hardware replacement programs to ensure reliability of the P&C infrastructure
Support the review and ensure adherence of Customer/Generation agreements
Support business development opportunities including TranSource related projects
Sponsor metrics development for P&C infrastructure to ensure operational reliability metrics are being met
Support budget development for both O&M and capital
Improved compliance and operational readiness:
Maintain and track assets to ensure compliance and integrity of asset data
Ensure appropriate levels of P&C spares are maintained
Support TFS P&C with accounting obligations associated with O&M and capital
Support regulatory requests including state commission or NERC related responsibilities
Manage the E-Waste process for all P&C equipment

This position is posted in range. The qualifications below are for Grade 07 Engineer/ Engineer Technologist
What We're Looking For:
The Grade 07 Engineer/Engineer Technologist has typically acquired four (4) or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology in a program accredited by ABET; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET .
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.
Acceptable alternative is:
(1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
