Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Hickory, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position that requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of leading critical accounting operations, including monthly closings and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting and be skilled in managing large accounting systems.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Prepare and produce consolidated financial statements for multiple facilities, including Claremont and Mississippi locations.

Lead forecasting initiatives to support organizational planning and decision-making.

Utilize advanced accounting software systems, such as Oracle and Essbase, to handle complex financial operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including costing directors and plant managers, to ensure alignment on financial goals.

Maintain oversight of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

Apply manufacturing cost accounting principles to optimize financial performance.

Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.

Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing environments.

Proven expertise in managing monthly closings and forecasting independently.

Proficiency in large accounting software systems, such as Oracle and Essbase.

Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and consolidation processes.

Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and ERP systems.

Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations.

Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
