Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced VP/Director of Finance to join our team on a contract basis in Hickory, North Carolina. This role will oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing division, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to provide actionable insights and drive decision-making to support the company's financial health and growth.

Responsibilities:

Manage the financial month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

Develop and oversee monthly forecasts and the annual operating budget, aligning financial goals with business objectives.

Produce detailed financial and metric reports, ensuring data accuracy and integrity to support strategic planning.

Analyze business risks and opportunities, creating predictive models to inform decision-making and future planning.

Identify cost-saving strategies and profit-enhancing opportunities, providing key insights to stakeholders.

Oversee inventory management, including auditing monthly inventory valuations and reconciling discrepancies.

Monitor cycle count compliance, excess inventory, and aging inventory transfers to ensure optimal inventory control.

Lead Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts, maintaining documentation, coordinating audits, and recommending process improvements.

Supervise and mentor a small team of associates, fostering growth and operational excellence.

Take on special projects as assigned to support the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements - A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, planning, and accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience in Microsoft D365 and Oracle strongly preferred.

Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, including the use of pivot tables, vlookups, and data visualization tools.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and provide actionable solutions.

Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase is a plus.

Strong sense of urgency and a proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all management levels.

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; advanced certifications are highly desirable.
