POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an exciting and challenging role working with a group of attorneys and internal clients to support the Company's real estate activities. The successful candidate will draft and review real estate agreements, perform legal research, and assist with other legal matters. This role will help design, develop, and leverage forms, templates and processes for reviewing and drafting standard agreements, negotiate agreements with third parties, and help manage an active workload of real estate legal matters. Successful candidates will have strong analytical, organizational, and contracting skills, and a strong orientation toward collaboration and process improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in drafting, preparing, and reviewing various real estate documents for attorney review, including but not limited to leases, licenses, easements, access agreements, surveys, deeds, and purchase/sale agreements.
Research and analyze legal and regulatory issues affecting the Company.
Assist in implementing solutions to existing or potential contractual, legal, and regulatory issues.
Support business development activities and participate in teams.
Ensure proper completion and execution of real estate transactions.
Manage and coordinate an active workload of real estate legal matters.
Use matter management, document management, and other technology tools to collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently manage matters, projects, and research materials.
Work cooperatively and in compliance with processes, procedures and guidelines developed by the practicing attorneys and Law Administration team.
Make reports, presentations, and participate in other activities to educate Company employees.
Keep informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statutes and regulations, and other matters of legal interest to the Company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies from ABA-approved school required.
Required: Experience assisting with commercial, multi-state real estate transactions.
Preferred: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in a corporate paralegal capacity preferred but not required.
