Summary:

Provide engineering support for designing and maintaining communication systems, including cables, circuits, and equipment used in critical launch facilities.

Develop maintenance plans and schedules for these systems. Contribute to the establishment of a mission control network for launch activities.

Collaborate with customers to ensure their communication requirements are met. Attend meetings related to assigned components and assess the capabilities of communication systems.

Essential Functions :

Support meetings, walk downs, and conduct site surveys of customer sites and plans, and designs systems installations for communication projects.

Provide technical communication systems expertise to technicians for installations and troubleshooting.

Provide detailed analysis of communication systems as needed for EWOCS and PMO use.

Support the integration of new, modified, updated, or removed systems so they are accurately reflected into the comm baseline.

Provide design and support for installation maintenance and repair of communications systems and equipment.

Provide technical guidance for establishment of a mission control communications network for launch simulations, test and operations.

Interface with local and national level customers to assist in requirements analysis and definition to ensure their communications requirements are accurately identified and met.

Acts as a liaison between project team members, customers, and installation team to ensure project is implemented seamlessly.

Attend mission-planning meetings, working groups, and Technical Interchange meetings associated with assigned components, facilities and systems.

Continuously assess the capability of Launch Operations and Support Contract communications systems to meet operational and customer requirements.

Provide technical drawings and circuit cards to support technician troubleshooting and installations of communication systems and equipment.

Update CAD drawings supporting configuration control for EWOCS and SF (SMC).

Submit and track Notice of Revisions (NORs) to customer for existing and new drawings and documentation.

Maintain project packages supporting upgrades, installation, and removal of communication systems.

Develop maintenance plans and repair schedules for communication systems.

Communicates projects status, deliverables, priorities, and contingencies as required.

Material and communication systems research and analysis to support upgrades, replacements, and new installations.

Produce List of Materials (LOMs) for budget estimates and projects.

Complete requisition inputs (ordering) and provide tracking and receiving of materials.

Ability to maintain training programs to include conduction training to all technicians and customers.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, telecommunications, or related technical field preferred.

Communications engineering or related experience preferred.

Experience working with maintenance management software.

Well understand of circuits and trunks to include T-1's & OC's.

Proficient knowledge of range communications systems and terminology, to include voice, digital voice, timing, video, data, and RF.

Knowledge of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Facilities is preferred.

Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Must possess a valid Driver's License

Other Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Access.

Familiarity in Imagine, Compunetix and Orion communication system is a plus.

Must work well in a team environment and interface well with Space Force, other contractors, customers, and all levels of the organization.

Must possess the necessary oral and written communication skills to investigate, read, write, interpret and explain technical and/or moderately complex information.

Sitting for extended periods of time

Use of office equipment, computers, etc.

Minimal lifting of up to 50lbs
