The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Finance team is seeking a Data Scientist to support our growing need for data and analytics. In this role, you will work across the broader OCI organization, supporting your peers in navigating OCI's data warehouse and bringing forth metrics and insights that enable the team to make decisions. We are looking for someone with financial acumen and a passion for data manipulation, analysis, and presentation. You will be responsible for maintaining existing dashboards, including troubleshooting data issues, and enhancing dashboards to meet internal customer requests.

Responsibilities

Leverage Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) tools to build dashboards of frequently used metrics and support user-base by evolving functionality and writing documentation

Write and maintain robust code in SQL including extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations

Maintain OCI Finance schema and data pipelines, including creation of new data repositories and troubleshooting

Interface with data experts across the OCI organization to understand lineage and ensure we're sourcing the most appropriate data

Lead and support ad hoc deep dives as needed for peer finance partners and senior leadership

Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader

Qualifications:

Education background in software development, engineering, mathematics, or related subjects

2+ years of experience leading projects, strategy, and development

Advanced experience with SQL and high level of comfort with complex queries, including extract, transform, and load (ETL)

Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools such as Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Power BI, Tableau, etc.

Knowledge of Cloud Technology and Infrastructure concepts preferred but not required

Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement

Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets

Ability to multitask with outstanding attention to detail

Proven track record of high performance and driving improvements within a business environment

Strong project management and organizational skills

Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

Good inter-personal communication skills and a self-starter mindset

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $69,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
