In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization.

By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers.

We currently have a great opportunity for a Electrical Test Engineer on our TRATON USA's R&D Team.

The Functional Verification and Validation team performs validation specifically of the electrical and electronic systems of commercial trucks and school buses. In this area, there is a need for an Electrical Test Engineer to prepare test procedures and execute electrical testing of vehicle electrical systems. This testing will encompass system integration, computer software, serial communication, electronic components, power generation/distribution, and wiring. The testing will be performed on International's diesel vehicles, electric vehicles, and vehicles with autonomous driver assist systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare test cases and test procedures based on written requirements.

Perform electrical validation testing and analysis of test data.

Troubleshoot to the root causes of failures of electric circuits or software.

Write formal test reports.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

Understanding of SAE J1939 Control Area Network (CAN)

Understanding and proficiency with data acquisition and measurement equipment

English proficiency and technical writing skills for preparing procedures and test reports
