The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections per all internal and external requirements, and to support internal customers in need of inspection support. Are you ready to launch into an impactful and interesting role? We're excited to work with you.
What You'll Do (Essential Job Functions):
People
Act as a professional leader within the organization and as a representative of CMi.
Be an effective communicator and leader within the QA department and throughout CMi
Develop and grow multi-level relationships with customers, suppliers, auditors, and other interested parties in support of CMi goals
Develop personal job competency through continuing education
Mentor and coach fellow professionals at CMi; lead mentorship and professional development within the QA department
Processes
Implementation: follow all released processes related to inspection planning, inspection, and internal customer support
Improvement: responsible for execution and improvement of QA department inspection and documentation processes in support of internal and external customers
Performance
Inspection Planning: Plan manual, CMM, and Vision System inspections; responsible for completeness and accuracy of other inspectors' inspection planning
Inspection: Execute inspection plans for manual, CMM, and Vision System inspections; responsible for completeness and accuracy of other inspectors' results
Internal customer support
Support internal customer requests for support related to inspection, measurement strategy, calibration, and other related requests
If assigned, perform duties of Calibration Coordinator
Administer recall and collection of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)
Arrange for internal or supplier calibration purchase orders
Inspect incoming M&TE and associated certification paperwork after calibration for compliance with requirements
Apply marking to M&TE per internal requirements
Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Ability to plan inspections using multiple CMM programming languages, as well as multiple alternate inspection methods (manual, vision, etc.)
Ability to follow and give clear oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively with a team and independently as needed to support the group effort, as both a leader and follower.
Ability to develop new calibration procedures as required.
Effective communication skills required, including reading, writing, and computer skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to act as a direct supervisor, coach, and leader within the QA organization
Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in related field may substitute for relevant experience, minimum of 5 of experience in manufacturing
Demonstrated proficiency in planning and executing advance, multi-method inspection strategies
Preferred experience with IS9000
Preferred 1 year experience in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Preferred 1 year experience within GD&T
Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR requirements.
Ability to pass a drug screen per Custom Microwave, Inc.'s drug testing policy.
Ability to pass a criminal background check per Custom Microwave, Inc.'s policy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The manufacturing facility is more than 56,000 square feet. Workers may be exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.
Must be able to work at a computer workstation 50% of day.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; repetitive motions include, but are not limited to, keyboarding and data entry operations.
Must be able to intermittently stand and walk for longer than 30 minutes throughout the work shift.
May require occasional utilization of stairs and/or ladder.
May require occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching to access work supplies.
This position involves extensive internal and external communication; ability to utilize a phone and convey accurate information in person, over the phone, and through email.
Must be able to see in artificial/fluorescent lighting.
May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Job Information:
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "CMi is Proud to Offer." This position is considered nonexempt (paid on an hourly basis and is eligible for overtime pay).
Pay range: $25.25-$37.50 based on qualifications and experience.
