AWS Infrastructure Services is the backbone of Amazon's cloud computing operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. This division supports all AWS data centers, encompassing a vast array of servers, storage systems, networking equipment, power systems, and cooling infrastructure. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of tackling complex supply chain challenges, managing thousands of variables to maintain the smooth operation of our infrastructure. You'll join a diverse team of experts, including software and hardware engineers, network specialists, supply chain professionals, security experts, and operations managers. Your work will directly contribute to upholding the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost efficiency for our customers.
The AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) organization drives the optimization of our supply chain and logistics operations. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you'll spearhead the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of logistics software and systems. Your expertise will be crucial in driving solution design, continuous improvements, and resolving complex technical challenges across our logistics landscape.
This position requires expertise in complex logistics platform configurations, deep understanding of WMS/TMS system architectures and their operational nuances. You'll work extensively with EDI specifications, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), Logistics visibility and tracking platforms, and AWS internal supply chain systems. In this global role, you'll orchestrate system implementations across multiple regions, managing complex rollout strategies while ensuring consistency and compliance across diverse markets. You'll own the product roadmap for logistics business systems, driving strategic planning and execution while maintaining regular communication with senior leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Key job responsibilities
A. Technical Implementation & Configuration
Drive EDI implementation initiatives through comprehensive understanding and validation of specifications, segment definitions, and business rules, ensuring accurate data transformation and thorough testing of EDI transmissions between source and destination systems
Drive end-to-end implementation and enhancement of WMS/TMS systems, translating business requirements into functional solutions.
Design and implement customized solutions beyond standard capabilities, partnering with SaaS vendors.
Optimize AWS systems integrations and infrastructure landscape through technical expertise.
B. Testing & Quality Assurance
Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
Lead CRP/UAT sessions, ensuring thorough validation of system functionalities.
Direct end-to-end testing of EDI transmissions and core WMS/TMS functionalities.
Validate cross-system integrations and data transformation accuracy.
C. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Drive engagement with stakeholders during design and validation phases.
Orchestrate collaboration between vendors, 3PLs, and internal teams.
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for system users at all levels.
Lead regular status updates and executive communications with AWS Cloud Logistics leadership.
Create and maintain stakeholder communication strategies for global implementations.
Present project milestones, risks, and mitigation plans to director-level stakeholders.
D. Operational Excellence & Support
Serve as principal technical advisor for logistics systems implementation and optimization.
Maintain detailed technical documentation and solution designs.
Lead issue resolution and system improvements with minimal operational impact.
Drive data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
E. Strategic Planning & Global Implementation
Own and maintain the product roadmap for logistics business systems, aligned with organizational objectives.
Lead global system rollouts across multiple regions, ensuring standardization while accommodating local requirements.
Develop and execute phased implementation strategies for international deployments.
Coordinate cross-regional teams and resources to ensure successful global launches.
Maintain governance framework for global systems implementation and enhancement.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3+ years of software development experience
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
