We are looking for a dedicated Patient-Facing Patient Financial Counselor to join our team in Lafayette Indiana. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in assisting patients with financial matters related to their healthcare, ensuring their experience is seamless and stress-free. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing systems and authorization processes to support patients effectively.

You will work onsite at a medical facility 4 out of 5 days per week, with one day remote from home. This position involves patient-facing duties every day that you are working onsite.

Hours: Mon-Fri: 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities:

Guide patients through financial processes, including benefit verification, billing, and claim administration.

Assist patients in understanding their healthcare costs and payment options.

Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Allscripts to manage patient financial data efficiently.

Coordinate authorizations and approvals for medical procedures and services.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of patient claims and billing functions.

Communicate with insurance providers to resolve claim issues and verify coverage.

Maintain detailed records of patient interactions and financial transactions.

Collaborate with healthcare staff to address patient financial concerns.

Implement and monitor banner ads and other digital tools to improve patient engagement.

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering inquiries and addressing concerns promptly.

Requirements - Proficiency in using EHR systems, including Epic and Allscripts.

Experience with medical billing, authorizations, and claim administration.

Strong knowledge of healthcare benefits and payment processes.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to navigate computer programs and digital tools effectively.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Previous experience in a patient financial counseling role is preferred.

Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
