We are looking for a Manufacturing Performance Engineer interested in a career with a top ranked and growing snack company, to join our Production department at PIM's manufacturing site Somerset, New Jersey. This position will report to our Senior Operations Manager - Strategic Planning.
Job Overview
Support, drive and lead Lean/TPM Continuous Improvement systematic methodology implementation in the PIM Brands site ensuring effective governance following the "plan-do- check-act" (PDCA) flow. The position interfaces extensively with all pillars and functions to build capability and eliminate losses to deliver the plant Compelling Business Need (CBN) and annual objectives. This role is responsible for implementing Lean/TPM Continuous Improvement systematic tools while building the required capability, as well as pulling the other pillars to guarantee the delivery of business results through a High-Performance approach.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support, drive and lead Lean/TPM Continuous Improvement systematic methodology implementation in the organization's manufacturing site ensuring effective governance following the "plan-do-check-act" (PDCA) flow.
Interface extensively with all pillars and functions to build capability and eliminate losses to deliver the plant Compelling Business Need (CBN) and annual objectives.
Implement Lean/TPM Continuous Improvement systematic tools while building the required capability, as well as pulling the other pillars to guarantee the delivery of business results through a High-Performance approach.
Provide training on CI tools and techniques to help drive teams through CI cycles.
Identify process improvement needs with department leads, facilitate sessions and support execution of newly established improvements.
Validate outcome benefits and support creation of new standards and qualification of members into new working processes. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP.
Follow the Organization's GMP rules.
Ensure robust work process implementation & sustainability across the site through capability building of work process owners and executing work process health checks.
Establish pillar governance process to constantly assess and Lean/TPM Continuous Improvement review progress.
Support development of Core "Shop Floor Operator" Centric organization. Ensure proper and timely communication with all levels of the organization: Pillars' teams escalating to eliminate barriers and correct any delay/ deviation of the plan.
Develop his/her key customers into High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) role models.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in implementing CI processes; change management processes; TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and/or integrated performance improvement processes; supply chain and plant organization; and Pillar performance management.
Must possess extensive management knowledge; and solid knowledge of Focused Improvement/ Analytical Skills (Root Cause Analysis (RCA)/ Focus Improvement tools.
Ability to blend people into teams; create strong morale and leverage on diversity in his/her work; ability to be effective at being a Servant Leader with the ability to lead and manage change; ability to drive results with a strong sense of urgency; proven ability to improve results & increase efficiency; and ability to build positive relationships with plant leadership teams, corporate continuous improvement team and other functions also required.
Must possess effective communication with strong interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; and ability to effectively communicate with entire organization from hourly employees through executive leadership.
Must have effective coaching skills at shop floor level; and excellent planning and organization skills.
Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
Physical Demands/Essential Job Functions
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 15 lbs. Visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.
Work Environment
Office and plant floor environment. When on the plant floor, it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor. Protective eye wear and gloves may be required in certain situations.

The role requires working on-site: Monday thru Friday.
Summer Fridays between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend

The pay range for this position is $ $85,000 to $100,000 per year. PIM Brands takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
