The Amazon Adtech team seeks a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer with strong analytical and communication skills to join our team. Facing many challenging and interesting business problems, we develop deterministic and probabilistic algorithms based on the latest statistics tools and data mining methodologies. You can help us discover opportunities, solve problems, and build metrics to impact the core business of Amazon Adtech.
This role requires an individual with excellent business, communication, and technical skills, enabling collaboration with various functions, including Product Managers, Data Engineers, Finance Managers, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, as well as senior leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starter thriving in ambiguity and challenges; competent in handling complex and large datasets and open business problems. The person has strong ownership and an ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and high-energy environment.
Key job responsibilities
Support new initiatives and provide data ownership end-to-end with business stakeholders; drive continued growth through data insights
Review existing data challenges to deliver a comprehensive solution with appropriate data strategy and tools
Design, develop, build, and maintain scalable data solutions, including infrastructure, pipeline, reporting, to support long-term business strategies
Simplify and re-invent current data solutions to support the business scope expansion
Identify and implement solutions for managing data across publisher ads business to maximize synergy and efficiency
Translate business problems into data questions, find solutions to solve those questions with resourcefulness
Identify areas of opportunities and present analytical findings and recommendations to business leadership
Work cross-functionally with other teams in various job families to gather data sources to provide a comprehensive view of the business, inclusive of supply, demand, sales, operations, shopper, etc.
Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
About the team
As part of Ad Tech, the Advertising Identity program powers intelligent ad buying by developing the underlying id spine for programmatic advertising. Our products help optimize performance and deliver personalized experiences in an ever-evolving privacy landscape, delivering ads when customers are listening to a podcast during their morning commute, shopping on the Amazon Store, or watching a movie on Prime Video. We enable a suite of ads products, from planning, audience onboarding and delivery, reach and frequency forecasting, to data collaboration and measurement.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of professional or military experience
5+ years of SQL experience
Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
Experience with AWS technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
