Our North America Indirect Tax team is looking to add a forward-thinking, self-motivated indirect tax specialist to our team. This position will be key in supporting our sales/use tax planning strategies, indirect tax audits, and working directly with our government contracting division to support their indirect tax needs. As part of the Corporate Functions organization, you will contribute to the running of Accenture as a high-performance business through specialization within the US Indirect Tax team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform sales/use tax planning and strategy support across multiple States.
Support government contracting division in planning, compliance, audit and all other matters related to indirect tax.
Assist on special projects, research, and implication of law changes relating to tax matters.
Draft sales/use technical tax memorandums and effects they'll have on business transactions.
Provide timely, accurate responses to sales/use tax inquiries from both internal and external customers.
Work directly with indirect tax auditors to explain internal accounting, perform reconciliations, gather and explain supporting documentation, and articulate taxability positions.
Collaborate with indirect tax team supporting monthly sales tax compliance filings in state and local taxing jurisdictions; identifying optimal filing options.
Support compliance with property tax, gross receipts, and business licenses.
Perform reverse audits identifying tax overpayments and preparation of refund claims.
Assist with issuance and acceptance of tax exemption and resale certificates.
Understanding/experience with advanced data analytic tools (Alteryx, Tableau, power Query).
Deliver training to internal stakeholders in finance, procurement and sales to drive efficiencies in accurate taxation of transactions.
Assist Indirect tax team with buildout of AI tools to continue our move towards a leading-edge group.
Compose responses to notices from taxing authorities.
Work with business team to determine applicability of sales tax on large projects.
Assist with month-end and year-end tax provision work.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of sales/use tax experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in researching, interpreting, developing, and implementing transaction tax processes in a large multi-state environment.
Proficiency in tax research tools.
Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or Systems preferred).
Basic understanding of AI and applicability to Indirect tax processes preferred.
Familiarity with sales/use tax related to government contracting.
Understanding of nexus and revenue sourcing issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with SAP/Vertex/OneSource/PTMS or other related software.
Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
