Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, laying out, and routing digital, analog, and RF PCBs. This includes component creation, circuit design, schematic capture, constraint setup, PCB stack-up design, and design rule checking. You will model high-speed digital, analog, and RF paths, including signal and power integrity analyses, and perform timing analyses on speed-critical circuits. Your role involves leading design trade studies to ensure optimal components and technologies are used to meet performance, reliability, cost, and scalability requirements. You will collaborate closely with Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering teams to drive PCB development, adhere to design for manufacturing principles, and work with production teams to enhance manufacturability and producibility.

Responsibilities

Design and layout digital, analog, and RF PCBs including component creation and circuit design.

Model high-speed digital, analog, and RF paths with signal and power integrity analyses.

Perform timing analyses on speed-critical circuits such as signal and clock distributions.

Lead design trade studies for optimal components and technologies.

Collaborate with engineering teams to develop PCBs, subsystems, and assemblies.

Adhere to design for manufacturing principles and improve manufacturability.

Conduct bench-level board measurements and data collections.

Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings, and formal design reviews.

Stay updated with PCB industry innovations and trends.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in designing and simulating digital, analog, and RF circuits.

Strong knowledge of circuit operations, routing techniques, and DFM rules.

Experience with Altium PCB Designer for PCB design and layout.

Proficient in measurement techniques using lab equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Ability to apply new concepts and technologies accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline.

Twelve or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree.

Ten or more years of experience with a master's degree.

Seven or more years of experience with a PhD.

Knowledge of FAB and SMT assembly technologies.

Strong documentation skills.

Work Environment

The work environment involves designing and manufacturing electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. It supports critical applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide. The team works in a fast-paced R&D environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $116000.00 - $208000.00/yr.
