Robert Half's confidential law firm client in Lawrenceville, GA is in immediate need of a legal assistant to join their team in the temporary capacity. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to support the administrative and procedural needs of a busy immigration and criminal defense firm. Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing legal filings using established templates, ensuring all documents are accurate and complete.

Coordinate with prosecutors' offices and clerks to obtain discovery materials and other necessary information.

Manage the scheduling of court dates, updating judge information, and organizing related documentation.

Collect attorney signatures for finalized documents and file them using systems like PeachCourt or Odyssey.

Communicate with clients regarding appointments and document drop-offs, ensuring smooth office operations.

Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for easy document retrieval.

Collaborate with the office manager and attorney to stay updated on procedural requirements and deadlines.

Provide general administrative support, including calendar management and correspondence handling.

Requirements - Previous experience in a legal assistant or administrative support role, preferably in a criminal defense or immigration law setting.

Proficiency in using legal filing systems such as PeachCourt or Odyssey.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for precise interaction with clients and legal personnel.

High attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and filing.

Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with attorneys and office staff.

Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is highly preferred.
