Summary The IT Specialist (INET) in the Publishing and Web Division (PWD) is responsible for providing IT resources and services throughout GAO. This includes developing, maintaining, and implementing sound and integrated information technology architecture, as well as designing and operating all major information resources, management systems, and processes. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (INET), PT-2210-2, your typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as technical monitor in development, maintenance, testing, and deployment for web-based applications, to include working with business stakeholders to help define requirements and determine which can be met through web technologies. Serves as the primary developer of web utilities, scripts, and applications, including Drupal-based sites, which are used to provide innovative solutions to operational problems encountered by GAO staff offices and unit teams. Utilizes tools, applications, the Drupal web content management framework, and data in a LAMP environment to integrate and consolidate unstructured and structured information/data. Designs and implements new features and functionality identified by business stakeholders using Drupal. Works with other Web Services Group staff to support web-infrastructure-related matters, including cloud-based services. AND Specialized experience: One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the NEXT LOWER BANDGRADE level of PT-1 / GS-11 level in the Federal service or comparable private/public sector experience which has equipped you with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Develop, modernize, and maintain internal and external organizational websites using Drupal, Git, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Solr, Perl, MYSQL, etc. and other web content management practices; Apply current LINUX-based web technologies and programming languages to support and enhance web development efforts, as well as troubleshoot then resolve issues; AND Build and deploy websites and web applications using software, hardware, and web languages.
