Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Niles, Ohio. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll processes, reviewing financial documents, and supporting various accounting functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a backup to the Payroll Manager, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.

Verify check requests and invoices for correct account coding and supervisor approval.

Organize and file invoices based on their status, including received, approved, and paid.

Generate and record purchase orders and invoices in the accounting system.

Compile monthly reports for department managers and the accounting team.

Assist in developing and maintaining company budgets to ensure financial goals are met.

Communicate with customers to provide reminders and updates on accounts receivable and overdue payments.

Offer support to employees by addressing payroll-related inquiries and concerns.

Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or related roles.

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, general ledger, and journal entries.

Experience with month-end close procedures.

Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
