Responsibilities & Expectations:

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for preparing transformers for painting by sanding them with a dual action orbital sander. This position requires the use of a respirator and includes forklift operation training. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all transformers are prepped and finished to quality standards.

Sand transformers using dual action orbital sander

Wear and properly maintain safety equipment, including a respirator

Operate a forklift as needed (training provided)

Scrape old stickers off transformers to prepare for painting

Tape off areas that do not require painting to ensure precision

Apply body filler and rust prevention products to damaged or worn surfaces

Perform stenciling on transformers as needed

*This is an entry-level position which has the opportunity to learn and grow into other positions.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment a plus but not required

Familiarity with sanding and body fillers and rust prevention materials a plus

Experience with forklift operation a plus or willingness to be trained in forklift operation

Must be able to wear a respirator during work hours

Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment

Attention to detail for prep work

Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team

Physical ability to handle tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting

Pay Rate Details: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
