Reference #: 25-13366 Genesis10 is seeking a Software Engineer for a remote direct hire position with a leading client in Pittsburgh, PA. Please be aware to qualify for this role you must be able to work a direct W2 basis.

Compensation: $120-125K/Year

Job Description:

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that support business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions, particularly in modernizing legacy systems and enhancing cloud-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the re-architecture of a healthcare software platform, transitioning from legacy on-prem systems to a modern, API-driven cloud solution. Develop and maintain high-performance software applications using Vue.js (frontend), TypeScript, and API-driven architectures in AWS or Azure. Refactor existing C# backend, optimizing its integration with a newly designed database (SQL or PostgreSQL). Assist in replacing Crystal Reports with a scalable, reporting solution. Work on database optimization, reducing query load and improving efficiency Improve automation testing capabilities, addressing prior gaps in testability. Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines and streamline cloud deployment. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations, particularly in image viewing and file access. Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers. Work closely with external consulting partners to execute a modernization plan.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in software development with expertise in JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue.js). Strong backend development skills in C# with experience in Entity Framework. Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms Knowledge of SQL Server, database optimization, and transitioning to PostgreSQL. Understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and API development. Experience with performance tuning and scaling enterprise software. Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience modernizing legacy applications and transitioning from on-prem to cloud. Prior experience in healthcare software development (FDA-approved applications a plus). Familiarity with VB6 (for migration purposes) and understanding of historical technical debt. Knowledge of enterprise reporting tools to replace Crystal Reports. Prior experience in high-performance image processing applications.
