Position Summary

The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Hope seeks a friendly and organized individual to serve as Administrative Assistant for a busy Child Care Center on the campus of Southern Utah University. The assistant will oversee the front desk duties as well as work with the Director and Business Operations Manager to ensure the duties of the program are completed.

First Consideration Date for Applicants: 05/15/2025.

Essential Functions

Supervise and oversee the Front Desk, including answering phones, scheduling tours and greeting guests, parents and children. Must be comfortable dealing with small children.

Perform general administrative support duties: typing, word proces sing, spreadsheets, logging childcare tuition into Brightwheel, maintaining files both locally and online and answering correspondence.

Become familiar with KidKare software and the Federal Food program; perform data entry and track meals and attendance.

Order office supplies and childcare supplies and maintain office equipment.

Assist in planning staff meetings and Childcare Center events.

Demonstrate a consistent positive attitude and rapport with University personnel and the public.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

General understanding of accounting practices and procedures.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive.

Proven ability to learn new software applications quickly.

Organizational ability with particular attention to detail.

Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance.

Require occasional physical lifting of up to 50 pounds.
