Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Hanover, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will support various accounting functions, including balance sheet analysis and accounts receivable management. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or professionals looking to apply their skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Analyze open balance sheets and ensure accurate reporting of financial data.

Manage accounts receivable aging, including tracking and resolving outstanding balances.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, update, and combine data, employing tools such as VLOOKUP for efficiency.

Conduct research to support financial decision-making and resolve discrepancies.

Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and ensure smooth workflows.

Assist in preparing and auditing financial records for accuracy and compliance.

Maintain up-to-date records in accounting software systems.

Proactively identify and address any issues or irregularities in financial data.

Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to clarify questions and share findings. Requirements - Strong understanding of accounting principles, including balance sheets and accounts receivable processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using functions such as VLOOKUP.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools commonly used in financial reporting.

Excellent research skills and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well with cross-functional teams.

Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Recent graduates in accounting or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and address challenges proactively.
