Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in South Boston, Virginia. This Contract position requires expertise in managing financial transactions, vendor relationships, and accurate payment processing. Responsibilities:
Manage vendor relationships by establishing and maintaining effective communication with both new and existing partners.
Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices while adhering to internal procedures and policies.
Process invoices, verify expense reports, and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
Compare purchase orders, pricing, and payment terms to received invoices for accuracy.
Handle electronic payment preparations, reviews, and approvals.
Monitor vendor agreements to negotiate favorable terms or utilize existing discounts.
Assist in tracking and processing sales and use tax payments.
Generate reports for account reviews and budgeting purposes as requested by management.
Support audits and year-end filings through accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
Identify opportunities to streamline payment processes and improve efficiency. Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounts payable processes.
Proven ability to accurately calculate, post, and manage accounting figures.
Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in data entry.
Proficiency in Office tools and familiarity with accounting software systems such as ERP and Concur.
Highly organized and capable of managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Ability to perform essential job functions, including effective communication, mathematical calculations, and manual tasks.
