About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional, multi-faceted attorney to support product development for Uber's largest growth delivery business, across Grocery & Retail. The Delivery Legal team is a critical business partner as we scale this global offering, offering strategic counsel to Operations, Strategy, Product, Engineering and Sales teams as new features, new country and market launches, and enterprise partner and merchant integrations are introduced on the Uber platform to millions of users looking for convenient delivery of (almost) anything.

What you'll do

Lead legal reviews of new products and features for consumers, merchants and earners on the Uber platform, and coordinate global reviews with regional legal teams, positioning these products/features to reduce risk from the early stages of product development through launch.

Provide deeply partnered and strategic feedback to your business clients on a wide range of sophisticated issues, including in the areas of consumer protection, privacy, commercial law, intellectual property, licensing, and competition.

Be a catalyst, pulling information and expertise from cross-functional teams to ensure the provision of timely, actionable advice to the Delivery business.

Be a strong communicator and collaborator on a high-performing, diverse team to achieve our legal and business priorities.

Draft terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclaimers, and other policies governing the use of Uber products and services.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in private practice OR in-house OR 4 years, including +1 year Uber internal.

J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to navigate global marketplaces-especially in delivery and platform services-by aligning product launches with varying international regulatory requirements.

The ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in an exciting, fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done.

Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others.

Proven ability to manage complex projects and a track record of building new or improving existing programs or processes, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Curiosity, along with the ability to spot issues, get to the heart of a matter, and articulate plans to address them.

Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action.

Excellent business judgment and great communication skills.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$187,000 per year - USD$208,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other @types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
