Position Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will serve as a technical and project lead within the Mechanical Fastening Manufacturing Engineering team , with a focus on the development and implementation of manufacturing machinery, automation systems, and related processes. This role supports process and product improvements, capacity expansion, new product launches, and the integration of advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Leadership
Lead the design, construction, integration, and startup of manufacturing equipment and systems.
Manage component design, selection, and sourcing, including material handling systems and tooling.
Research, evaluate, and purchase OEM equipment to support high-efficiency manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with R&D Engineering to align product design with manufacturing capabilities.
Design efficient layouts for equipment and workstations to optimize space, workflow, and productivity.
Conduct detailed root cause analysis and develop and implement effective solutions.
Oversee automation and capital improvement projects from concept through implementation.
Operational & Compliance Oversight
Ensure equipment and facility operations comply with all safety, environmental, and legal standards.
Develop safe work procedures and interface with OSHA, EPA, emergency response teams, and other regulatory bodies.
Perform administrative responsibilities including timely project reporting, budget tracking, and resource coordination.
Provide technical guidance to operations teams and support maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and develop engineering talent to drive technical excellence and project execution.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers or partners.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping methodologies.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
10+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in equipment/tooling design, project management, maintenance coordination, and technical supervision.
Proficient in SolidWorks; working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, automation, and capital projects is preferred.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including extended trips (up to several weeks); flexibility for occasional off-hours communication with global teams.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to heat, dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a distribution warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Annual base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $150,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
