Description

We are looking for an eager, degreed, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team a growing Homebuilding company in Mission Viejo, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position that offers the opportunity for long-term growth within the organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing a variety of accounting tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

Perform account reconciliations, including bank account reconciliations, to maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare financial statements and reports to support organizational decision-making.

Utilize accounting software such as Sage 300 and QuickBooks to perform daily accounting tasks.

Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies.

Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements within the accounting department.ag

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.

Proficiency in accounting software, such as Sage 300 and QuickBooks, is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Experience with job costing is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
