This position performs a variety of duties which includes clerical and secretarial support for the Civil Unit of the Justice Services Division. Work Location This position will work at the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, 325 13301 Hanson Blvd NW, Andover. Work hours for this position is up to 15 hours per week. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Associate Administrative Assistant. Provide clerical and secretarial support for the Civil Unit and troubleshoot basic issues related to department administration. Assist with the civil intake process, paper entry, and records retention. Deliver remarkable customer service while answering phones, providing front desk support, and assisting walk-in guests. Coordinate routine office management and operations through use of the civil software programs. Create and edit memos, letters, reports, and assist with invoicing for civil process. Review and correct entries and cancellations of information in multiple civil software systems. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Requires a high school diploma Possess or able to obtain within six months of hire a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and Criminal Justice Information (CJIS) certification Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Strong written and verbal communication skills Organizational skills Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standard office environment Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. The exposed area is the area from the bend of the wrist to the shirt sleeve. Tattoos on the head, face, neck, or hands are prohibited. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for tattoos of rings on fingers. (Complete policy available upon request).
