Position Description The Anoka County Job Training Center is dedicated to fostering the success of both individuals and employers through comprehensive workforce development services. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide centralized control and management for the department's administrative and clerical needs. Including general office management, record keeping, purchasing and financial activities, clerical and administrative support, and coordination on special projects. This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position. Interviews will take place the week of May 12, 2025 for those selected to move forward in the hiring process. Advancement/professional development opportunities. Work Location This position will work at Blaine Human Services Center, located at 1201 89th Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Administrative Assistant: Provide clerical and administrative support for the department. Envision project layout and design concepts to develop innovative, creative ideas to construct or reconstruct various documents including but not limited to forms, reports, flyers, presentations and program guidebooks for the department. Provide back-up support in the career lab assisting customers on the computer and with job search. Deliver remarkable customer service answering phones, assisting walk-in guests, and reserving facilities. Perform office administration and operations activities such as maintain electronic files, upload documents to department website and internal shared database (i.e. SharePoint). Prepare and log regularly recurring data for department reports and documents. Receive, store, maintain and order office supplies inventory. Track orders and investigate problems. Ability to work collaboratively with representatives of partner agencies and professionally represent the Job Training Center. Act as a liaison and point of contact for employees, the department, and/or the public. Translate concerns and requests for information into clear and accurate responses and elevate concerns as needed. Compile and coordinate materials for meetings for multiple leadership levels of the organization. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Requires a high school diplomaand at least 2 years of job-related experience In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis experience Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate workflows General understanding of general office procedures Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions while meeting critical deadlines Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standard office environment Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs. Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed.
