Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Level 4) in Johnstown, PA. In this role, you will mentor Manufacturing Engineers, provide hands-on production floor support, tooling support, develop manufacturing plans, reduce defects, identify root causes and implement corrective actions, focus on improving manufacturing processes, and optimize costs for the following programs: F-35, F-16, C-130, and the machine shop.
What You Will Be Doing
Support Production Operations - Improve sub-assembly build processes, support repairs on the floor, eliminate repetitive defects, and drive out unnecessary costs to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Develop and Modify Manufacturing Plans - Interpret engineering blueprints and M&P specs, manage the review and incorporation of major and minor engineering changes, and apply engineering concepts to support production and proto@type articles.
Investigate and Resolve Non-Conformances - Conduct root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
Optimize Machining Strategies - Identify CNC mills, lathes, and machining processes to manufacture precision components efficiently.
Enhance Production Sequences - Use engineering models and designs to determine optimal assembly sequences and manufacturing approaches.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams - Work closely with Quality, Production, Planning, Industrial Engineering, Production Control, and Engineering teams to implement innovative solutions and enhance production efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with production floor support, root cause analysis and corrective action
Experience reading engineering blueprints, tool designs, and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience developing and troubleshooting manufacturing processes in a production
environment to resolve non-conformances and improve efficiencies
Basic knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or combined experience/education
Desired Skills:
Manufacturing Engineering experience with fabrication and assembly in a production environment
Experience developing technical solutions to complex problems
Experience working in a union environment
Knowledge of LM engineering change integration process.
Knowledge of CNC machines, CAD/CAM systems and tooling concepts for precision
machining operations.
Knowledge of manufacturing capabilities to determine feasibility assessments for new opportunities
Ability to liaison across Lockheed Martin disciplines and business areas to resolve and
improve manufacturing processes
Effective interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, listening, technical
writing and presentations

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
