Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Electrical Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding approval of winning a program.
We are seeking enthusiastic and capable Electrical Engineers of all experience levels. Whether you are a recent graduate or a subject matter expert we want to hear from you. This position reports to the Electronic Systems and Power Division and is responsible for owning the electrical and avionics system design for advanced miliary air vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for the integrated design across vehicle subsystems including selecting the best design solutions for system layouts, packaging, harnessing and component selection. You will also represent the electrical and avionics systems in all cross-functional trades and impact studies for the given programs you are supporting. This is a high visibility, high criticality role where you will get to make your mark from concept development to product validation and delivery.
-An Avionics and Electrical Systems Designer owns all phases of development from proposal through successful design, qualification, integration, flight testing, and production. Responsibilities may include:
-Requirements development, traceability, and verification
-Interface and system specification management
-Avionics and Electrical system design/architecture and analysis
-System safety (FMECAs, FHA, etc.)
-Supplier coordination
-Generation of high-quality engineering documentation and designs
-Test planning, execution, and troubleshooting in both our Systems Integration Laboratories (PILSim, HILSim) and Aircraft
-Component and aircraft level development and certification to military and commercial standards (MIL-STD-516, MIL-STD-810, DO-160, ARP4754, AS50881, etc.)
-Support of aircraft ground and flight test campaigns
Minimum Requirements
-Must be a US Person
-Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field
-Typically, 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master)
-Experience with schematic design and CAD tools (Siemens Capital, Altium, etc.)
-Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
-Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity
-Relevant education and/or experience in one or more of the disciplines listed below:
-Aircraft avionics, power electronics, electrical loads analysis, or electric actuation and propulsion
-Electrical and electronic circuit analysis and design, including utilization of schematic, PCB, and 3D design tools and/or simulation and modeling tools
-Electrical power generation, conversion, distribution, and storage systems
-Guidance, navigation, and control systems and techniques
-Wired and wireless communications networks, components, and systems
-Electrical wiring and harnessing
-Real-time embedded electronic hardware & firmware, sensor interfacing and analysis, and signal processing
-Electronics bench and field testing utilizing a range of electronic/electrical test and measurement equipment
Preferred Requirements
-Experience with UAVs
-Works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to define cross-functional interfaces
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to analyze and resolve hardware/software integration issues
-Ability to use lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
-Experience with Model Based System Engineering and requirements management (Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, etc.)
-Familiarity with military and commercial industry standards such as DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, ARP4754, ARP4761, AS50881, etc.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range: $71,000.00 to $127,000.00
Maximum Range: $87,000.00 to $154,000.00
