Who Are We? Are you someone that likes new challenges? Do you want to explore new technologies and help solve some of the world's most difficult problems, like air quality and safety solutions? At TSI, these opportunities are real. Our engineers work with industry-leading experts both internally and externally. We encourage and enable our engineers to get into the field with customers to better understand their issues and solve their problems. At TSI, you make a difference - every day. Senior Electrical Engineer at TSI The Senior Electrical Engineer will work under minimal supervision on new product development, as well as continuation engineering projects. The candidate will support the design and development, testing, and manufacturing of printed circuit assemblies and embedded microcontroller firmware, as needed, for a wide variety of TSI precision instruments, including particle, gas, and flow measurement sensors and devices. Typical electrical system features/needs include: measurement and user controls, low power consumption, compact enclosure interfaces, and embedded systems. To accomplish this, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge and experience to apply standard engineering practices toward complex problem solving, associated with printed circuit assembly, using 32-bit microcontrollers, FPGAs, and custom discrete analog and digital circuitry. This position will assume leadership on technical projects and effectively communicate in cross functional teams that span all engineering disciplines, marketing, quality, regulatory, and production. What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will: Solve complex technical design and development problems and create architecture for electrical systems, design circuits, and printed circuit assemblies; write firmware for the embedded system to control and process sensor readings Lead development of printed circuit assemblies, designing circuit to meet technical specification and ensure that the product meets electromagnetic compatibility requirements Independently design, simulate, test, and debug moderately complex to complex electrical circuits to ensure compliance with customer needs, design specifications, and quality standards Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness Apply problem solving skills to analyze new and unfamiliar engineering problems and review potential solutions with other engineers and/or project leads, when necessary Estimate task duration and resource requirements for project schedules Provide work direction to fellow engineers and cross-functional teams, as necessary, on project or tasks, in order to meet project deadlines Integrate electronic instrumentation and subsystems into larger test systems that may include both software components and medical devices Analyze requirements to create and manage design documentation, in accordance with applicable engineering standards, product development processes, and quality systems Bring the project group to a higher level of engineering skills, coupled with the ability to work cross functionally with manufacturing, marketing, and sales to move a project forward May travel to customer sites to provide customer service support and help resolve problems What Do You Need? Required Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 5+ years of product development with Electrical Engineering experience from the concept phase through the launch phase with leadership over the electrical HW and FW portion Embedded HW design experience with 32-bit microcontrollers, such as ARM, Cortex Proficiency in low noise analog circuits to support precision sensors Experience in low power DC/DC power supply and rechargeable battery systems Experience in PSpice circuit simulation or equivalent Proficiency in schematic capture, EMI/EMC and grounding principles, PCB design oversight, low-power analog design, and board-level circuit troubleshooting Experience with analog to digital conversion, digital logic, memory, and signal processing Experience in Python and C/C++ programming Desired Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Design for Internet-of-Things or other network protocols and environments Design of circuits in support of wireless technology Design of battery power and charge circuits Linux operating system knowledge Experience integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic What Can We Give You?
