The Associate Director will lead the OptumRx Discount Reconciliation team in generating client discount reconciliations delivering timely and accurate contractual performance results. This role is responsible for leading the team which generates client guarantee reconciliations, interpreting client contracts and implementing those terms, maintaining reconciliation code, analyzing outcomes and providing insights, supporting client discount audits, and collaborating with other teams as needed. In addition, the leader will support the Network team in delivery of Network Margin performance and analytics.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead team which prepares client pricing reconciliations through contract interpretation, financial modeling, and data analysis in support of OptumRx's client pricing commitments for 3,000 + clients
Serve as critical interface with account management, contract management, pharmacy accounting, and legal teams in support of meeting client contractual pricing commitments and influencing change in future client contracts
Deliver timely client reconciliations based upon contractual turnaround times and requests submitted by account management
Prepare approval requests to Executive leaders with sufficient background and financial impact analysis with rapid response times needed
Identify opportunities to improve financial performance optimization through consistent and thorough trend analysis of contractual discount guarantee results
Manage current financial reporting process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial results to multiple business partners
Clearly communicate results, forecasted performance, and variances to budget, forecast, etc.
Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a compelling message for their stakeholders (through reconciliations / Network Margin requests)
Support preparation for earnings release, investor conference, business planning etc. as well as various ad hoc requests and special projects
Support Client Audit teams in responding to audit inquires and request with ad-hoc analysis
Seeks out new opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of proven experience in data, analytics, operations, or financial modeling
2+ years of Leadership experience
2+ years of experience preparing financial presentations and commentary
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in PBM
Experience using Microsoft PowerBI, Databrick, Tableau
Experience communicating complex thoughts in a clear, concise, and timely manner both in written and oral form
Proven solid analytics background and attention to detail
Proven solid written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization and with cross-functional partners
Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues, assess implications and implement appropriate action plans
Demonstrated ability to lead conversations with executive team members to discuss performance results, promote engagement and drive results

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
