Position: Entry-Level Accountant
Report to: Assistant Controller or Senior Accountant
Job Description Overview
Kwest Group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with accounting experience who are eager to build their careers in a dynamic, employee-owned company. The Entry-Level Accountant will assist with a variety of essential accounting duties, focusing on accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll data entry, credit card management, and general financial operations.
Responsibilities
Enter job-related invoices into the accounting system.
Set up new jobs and cost codes in Dexter Chaney/Spectrum.
Match and verify documentation for invoices.
Assist with accounts receivable tracking and collections up to 60 days.
Monitor, reconcile, and manage company credit cards.
Manage EZ Pass transponders, including reconciliation and payment.
Assist with payroll data entry and timesheet verification.
Perform credit card expense reconciliation monthly.
Assist with subcontract and purchase order data entry.
Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Perform detailed reviews and assist with ECAC (Estimate at Completion) processes.
Assist in budget preparation and income statement account reconciliations.
Prepare balance sheet work papers under supervision.
Track equipment costs and assist with equipment-related invoice processing.
Support IFTA tax tracking and quarterly filing.
Provide support for answering phones and general office duties.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements and Qualifications
Associate degree (2-year) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; or equivalent relevant hands-on accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Willingness to learn accounting software (Crystal Reports and Dexter Chaney/Spectrum experience preferred but not required).
Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
Ability to travel occasionally to client meetings, conferences, and regional/divisional offices.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands for extended periods.
Occasionally required to stoop, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and reach above shoulders.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends if necessary.
