Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. This is a long-term contract position within the non-profit sector, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment where your accounting expertise will play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing end-of-year entries, accruals, and audit preparation while working closely with internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end and year-end closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and post journal entries to maintain a well-organized and accurate general ledger.

Conduct bank reconciliations and systematically download and input financial data into accounting systems.

Assist with audit preparation by compiling required documentation and liaising with auditors.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain smooth financial operations.

Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and v-lookups, to analyze and manipulate financial reports.

Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless transitions during internal process changes.

Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling accrual entries and other critical financial tasks.

Adapt to changes and exhibit patience while working closely with diverse team members.

Support the organization in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and policies. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger management.

Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end closing processes, including accrual entries.

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and formula creation.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
